Engineered and hand crafted with both the environment and you in mind, the biodegradable coffins offer a dignified and less formal solution made from wonderful natural materials.
Daisy Coffins are made from water hyacinth or banana leaves, both fast growing and freely available. Environmentally sound alternatives to more traditional construction materials they are both innovative and trustworthy.
A unique and biodegradable choice. Made from natural products with a 100% unbleached decorative calico lining, 100% cotton rope, even the aliphatic glue is 100% natural.
Banana Leaf Coffin
Banana trees are not actually trees at all; they are considered to be herbs. Its stem grows underground like the taro plant. A new stalk will spring up from the same root system in a matter of months.
The trunk that we see above the ground is actually just a column of 25 to 30 tightly layered leaves. The banana plant bears fruit only once, then it must be cut down.
The leaves are removed from the plant after fruiting, and hand woven into ropes. It is from these ropes that Daisy Coffins are carefully produced.

One of the fastest growing aquatic plants known, sometimes called ‘golden plant’, it can double its population in two weeks. Water hyacinth forms a dense impenetrable mat across the water surface, limiting access by man, animals are obstructed, and irrigation and drainage systems become blocked.
Harvesting water hyacinth for constructing Daisy Coffins has great local benefits, in clearing water courses, providing irrigation etc the resulting materials, when woven, produce a beautiful looking coffin.

The attractive weave and natural appearance of the Bamboo Eco Coffin meets clients' growing awareness for the need for environmentally friendly funerals. This coffin is produced as environmentally friendly as possible. Supplied with a bamboo headrest and a liner of waterproof, biodegradable heavy-duty cotton. The handles are also produced from bamboo. The species of bamboo used in the manufacture of this coffin is not eaten by Pandas. This bamboo is cultivated on Chinese Government plantations where employees have exemplary working conditions.
