A Loughborough funeral service has been given a fresh new look following a £38,000 refurbishment.
Midlands Co-operative Funeral Service on Pinfold Gate in Loughborough, has been completely refurbished and redecorated throughout in a contemporary style including new carpets, curtains and furniture.
In terms of facilities, the funeral home has two arranging rooms where families can discuss their requirements in private and two viewing lounges where families can pay their last respects to loved ones.
Funeral Director, Valerie Woodward, said: “Although funerals are less of a taboo subject these days, there’s still a sense of anxiety about funeral homes and what goes on behind the scenes. By completely altering the look and feel of the home’s interior, we hope to demonstrate that there is nothing to worry about.
“Traditionally, funeral homes have been fairly sombre establishments with frosted glass windows and traditional furniture and furnishings. We decided to bring a slightly more contemporary feel to the interior design and layout of our funeral home following on from feedback given by our families. We have now created a warm, welcoming and open environment in which families will feel comfortable and relaxed.”
