Midlands Co-op Recognises Funeral Colleagues Commitment

Midlands Co-op has acknowledged those Funeral Service employees who have shown determination and dedication in achieving professional development qualifications and enhancing skills.
Eight employees from Funeral, along with colleagues from across the Society, were invited to Midlands Co-op’s bi-annual Learning and Development Celebratory Awards where they were treated to a celebratory lunch followed by the awards presentation.
Caroline Cook from Midlands Co-op Funeral Services in Chaddesden, Maureen Hill, from Midlands Co-op Funeral Services in Derby and Paul Lune from Ambler Brothers Funeral Directors in Birmingham all received their Diploma in Funeral Directing. Martin Tipping, from Midlands Co-op Funeral Services in Derby, Sandie Bacon from Towers and Son Funeral Service in Crick, Northamptonshire, Paula Newbold from Ambler Brothers Funeral Directors in Birmingham, Anna Ellis from McCartneys Funeral Service in Hinckley, Leicestershire and Ruth Johnson from Midlands Co-op Funeral Services’ support centre in Lichfield all received their Foundation Certificate in Funeral Services.
The following colleagues were unable to attend the ceremony. Paul Asher from Midlands Co-op Funeral Services in Leicester achieved his Foundation Certificate in Funeral Services and Richard White from Ambler Brothers Funeral Directors in Birmingham and Funeral Trainer, Kay Bruce, both achieved their ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Introductory Certificate in First Line Management.
Paul Webb, General Manager for Midlands Co-op Funeral Services, said: “I’m extremely proud of the commitment and hard work that everyone puts in to helping bereaved families all year round. Having the right knowledge, skills and motivation is essential in delivering the best possible service and I’m delighted that our colleagues have been recognised for developing their skills to maintain our high standards.”
Ann Breen, the Society’s Management Development Manager, said: “Recognising effort and achievement is one of our core values and the awards ceremony does just that. Colleagues have worked extremely hard to complete their studies and this is our way of saying congratulations and well done.”
