Measham Funeral Director, W B Bradford and Son, has raised £111 for charity by holding a charity coffee morning to celebrate the completion of its newly refurbished premises.
Funeral Directors at the High Street funeral home invited the general public to join them for a cup of coffee and slice of cake, a tour of the funeral home and the opportunity to find out more about the role of a funeral director.
Gerard Egan, said: “With the refurbishment now complete, we wanted to show off our new-look premises and raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers. We requested a small donation in exchange for coffee and cake and ran a raffle too.
“By holding this informal event, we not only hoped to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, but to also demonstrate that funeral homes are not places to be feared. The role of a funeral director is very interesting and rewarding and we wanted to share this with others. Visitors to the coffee morning were impressed with the facilities that we have and I hope that they went away feeling that we are approachable and here to help.”
